Who I am
I am a queer, racialized settler, cis woman, and bigger-bodied, late-diagnosed ADHDer. As a parent, partner, and therapist, I bring both lived experience and professional expertise to my work. I understand the complexities of late diagnosis, the challenges of parenting into adulthood, navigating addiction, and the journey of embracing one’s true identity. My personal and professional paths have deepened my commitment to creating an affirming, compassionate space where you feel truly seen and supported.
I provide affirming support through life transitions, including school, work, late diagnosis, and identity exploration (ADHD, Autism, race, gender, sexuality, etc.). I also have experience working with newcomers to Canada, hormonal and chronic health conditions, substance use, and OCD. My approach focuses on strengths, needs, and skill-building to help you navigate mental health challenges and foster overall well-being.
I offer therapy through an identity-affirming, culturally responsive, equity-focused, and sex-positive, kink-informed lens. Your lived experiences and intersectional identities shape how you navigate the world, and I strive to honor that with curiosity, care, and connection.
Through a judgment-free, collaborative approach, I create a space where you can explore, heal, and fully embrace who you are—without the pressure to conform to societal expectations.
I integrate evidence-based practices such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), mindfulness-based ACT, Narrative Therapy, IFS, CBT, DBT, and somatic-based approaches to provide personalized and effective support. However, I also understand that therapy isn’t just about techniques—it’s about connection. My lived experiences allow me to bring deeper empathy, insight, and authenticity to our work, ensuring that you feel heard, validated, and supported.
With over 15 years in Ontario’s public sector, I’ve dedicated my career to counseling, advocacy, and community leadership. As a Supervisor with the We Welcome the World Centres at Peel District School Board, I led multidisciplinary teams supporting newcomers. Later, as Supervisor of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility for the City of Cambridge, I advanced reconciliation, community development, and equity initiatives.
Beyond my professional roles, I’ve served on the board of a supportive housing organization and currently sit on the board of the Rainbow Refugee Association of Nova Scotia, continuing my commitment to meaningful change.
I immigrated to Ontario, Canada when young with my parents and can speak Spanish.
I enjoy playing D&D, painting, starting (sometimes finishing) crafts, roller derby, trying new foods and spending time in nature. My current D&D character is a Druid Fire Genasi named Fry. I’m also a dog, plant, and nacho lover. Currently, I have around 50 indoor plants. I like a bit of time spent in my avocado oodie and a random fact is that I once won a Halloween costume contest dressed as the Paper Bag Princess.
