16+ for individual online therapy sessions across Ontario.
Who I am
I identify as a white, bigger-bodied, cis woman who is queer, late-diagnosed AuDHDer who has chronic health conditions.
I am a mental health therapist dedicated to supporting you with mood and addiction issues, gender identity and sexuality, menopause, chronic illness, being Autistic and/or an ADHDer, and weight-inclusive, health at every size food relationship and body image support.
I specialize in therapy services, prioritizing your unique needs and complex parts of your identity. My approach is rooted in creating an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed environment that fosters collaboration, empathy, inclusivity, and non-judgment. I believe compassion is key.
I take a holistic approach to my work. I believe in the power of the mind-body connection, which is often too separated. I also provide affirming and strengths-based support, including narrative, ACT, and somatic-based elements, while continuing to unlearn oppressive societal and cultural norms.
*Please note that I am trained in traditional therapy models like CBT, DBT, etc., but I tend to use them in an informed, eclectic way instead of a one-model-therapy-fits-all approach.*

I started my career in Mental Health and Addictions within Ontario in 2011. I began working in withdrawal management through my local hospital and at a residential addictions treatment centre. I then moved to community mental health and worked in various areas, including outpatient addictions counselling, the early psychosis intervention team, and adult case management for people experiencing issues with schizophrenia, bipolar, BPD, etc. During this time, I also worked through the Gilbert Centre in Barrie, Ontario, offering free counselling to the LGBT2SQ+ community and then, after getting my master's, spent time as part of the Barrie Family Health Team and a year on a Trans Health Team covering the Simcoe-Muskoka region. Additionally, I also worked casually as a crisis worker at the hospital. In 2020, I moved to a private eating disorders clinic, and I opened up a private practice of my own. In March 2024, I decided to found Prismatic Compassion for online therapy and other holistic based services across Ontario.
During my career as a mental health therapist, I have sat on work and community diversity committees within Simcoe County, Muskoka region, and Barrie, Ontario area. I have organized work Pride events and developed policies to try to make workplaces more LGBT2SQ+ affirming and accessible for employees and community members. Advocating for more inclusive change is an important part of my work!
Prismatic Compassion was inspired by my desire to create a safer and more validating space for clients, particularly those from minority groups who often face systemic issues and lack validation in the traditional mental and physical health systems. I was driven by my lived experience and firsthand professional experiences with the challenges these groups face and my frustration with the one-size-fits-all approach that often dominates the mental health field.
My passion lies in addressing the gaps in the mental health system and providing comprehensive support that includes both mind and body healing. I am committed to breaking the gatekeeping culture in mental health and advocating for the needs of marginalized groups. My work is fueled by a deep-seated belief in the importance of educating people about mental health and offering compassionate, personalized, and nuanced care.
I‘m originally from England and moved to Barrie, Ontario, in 2006. I’ve stayed in Simcoe County ever since.
I enjoy a wide range of music (though the band Queen is a favourite), going to the cinema or the theatre, singing in my car, going on deep dives with research, loving a bit of history, taking photos of nature, clouds, and skies, going on day trips and adventures when possible, and anything else arts and crafts related. Currently, I‘ve been working on beginner crocheting projects. I also enjoy a bit of witty humour and think it's okay to have some silly fun now and then. I'm a massive animal lover and have three dogs. I love British comedies and comedies like Schitt’s Creek over here, along with movies that have a deeper story and a great soundtrack score, like Shawshank Redemption, The Woman in Gold, and Freedom Writers.
