Who I See

13+ for individual online therapy sessions across Ontario.

Who I am

I am a white, cisgender, queer woman living in a fat body that experiences chronic pain. As a late-diagnosed AuDHDer, I’ve navigated the world with a unique lens shaped by my experiences as an eldest daughter and recovering perfectionist. My personal journey has deeply informed my work, grounding me in empathy, humility, and understanding of the complexities of identity, mental health, and living with chronic pain.

    CLIENT AREAS OF INTEREST

I specialize in supporting neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD, Autism, and AuDHD, particularly in navigating life’s challenges with an ADHD/Autistic-friendly approach. I am also passionate about gender and sexuality exploration, life transitions, grief, and managing the impacts of chronic illness and disability. Additionally, I bring experience working with individuals navigating divorce, breakups, perfectionism, and developmental disabilities. Whether you’re seeking support for self-identity, trauma, or simply finding more ease in daily life, I am here to help make therapy accessible and meaningful for all.

    MY THERAPEUTIC APPROACH

I welcome you into a space where you can bring your whole self; messy, joyful, angry, or grieving, without judgment. Therapy isn’t about perfection; it’s about authenticity. Sometimes we’ll laugh, sometimes we’ll cry, and sometimes we’ll sit with the hard stuff together.

I believe in collaboration and inviting your feedback to ensure our work feels right for you. My practice is trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and deeply affirming of neurodivergent, queer, and trans identities. Together, we’ll create a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported in a way that truly fits you.

    ECLECTIC MODALITIES USED

My approach prioritizes accessibility and considers your whole self, including the broader systems and narratives that impact you (e.g., cis heterosexism, ableism, racism, poverty). I integrate Narrative and Expressive Arts Therapy, Somatic Approaches (Hakomi, Parts Work), and IFS-informed therapy. By blending these methods, I create a supportive space that validates your lived experiences while fostering healing and self-discovery.

More About Erin

Before becoming a mental health therapist, I spent most of my time working in research and disability support work. Some of the projects that I’ve worked on include studying sexual side effects from psychotropic medications and their impacts on women’s sense of self and relationships with others, best practices for suicide prevention and intervention for folks with FASD, perspectives on medical assistance in dying from marginalized populations, anti-racist mental health interventions for Black Canadians, and lived experiences of former youth in care in Alberta. I also volunteered on the local crisis line and moved into a training role by supporting new volunteers in their first shifts on the line.

While I enjoyed research and disability support work, I had truly always wanted to be a therapist. Though I was on the path to do a PhD and become an academic, I took the optional clinical practicum in my MSW degree. I returned to the nonprofit where I had previously been a researcher and joined them as a mental health therapist working with folks with developmental disabilities. And I thrived there. Since defending my thesis (focused on therapists who also go to therapy!), I've been working in private practice with a focus on ADHD/Autism, gender and sexuality exploration, and body image and eating disorders.

CAREER PATH

I love being by the water and spending as much time as possible near the river. My grandmother always told me this is because I’m a water sun sign (Cancer). One day, I hope to plant roots and live by the water somewhere.

I enjoy cuddling my Cavapoo pup Cosmo, listening to fantasy-based and other genres of audiobooks, making art (which I believe is for everyone), crocheting, painting, collaging, hand lettering, and lately planning whether I’m going to try out knitting again or take up embroidery. I’m also a big D&D and Baldur’s Gate 3 nerd and, more recently, have gotten into cosplay, attending conventions as a Druid called ‘Snow.’
